I have a fear of flying

I have no idea when did I develop this fear. I have been flying since I was young. The adrenalin rush in me shoots when I am about to fly. I get so nervous and together with this I have upset stomach that comes hand in hand. I don't what it is but there is a lot of pressure to my stomach. I do fly at least 5 to 6 times a year. My works and my passion for traveling makes me travel. But my fear don't allow me to travel more than 4-6 hours max. That is a limitation as well.

I did try many things so that my fear reduces. I've done things like taking herbal sleeping medicine, taking cold medicine that makes you sleepy, drink alcohol in the plane, watch my favorite movie, have my friends/cousin occupy me when flying, exercising, smile, go to the loo on the day of flying, partying hard the day before and not sleeping for flight in the morning and all that jazz. I have done it all. Nothing seem to work at all.

I guess I will have to figure it out and try new things. But for now, I just keep my ipad loaded, sit by the window and keep drinking water.

5 Favorites and 1 Regret August 2013

Favorites

  1. Beauty Blender: I have been using this applicator more than brush to put on my foundation and concealer. It creates a flawless air-brushed finish, very easy to take care of it. It surely makes my makeup application so much quicker. Very easy to take care of and cleanse. There is only one cons for me for this item which is to find a container to bring it while traveling oh and it could be unsanitary at times. But I love it still.
  2. Bobbie Brown Gel Eyeliner: I have just recently got this product and I can't believe what took me so long to buy it. The staying power and the pigmentation is super fabulous. It glides so smoothly. This is the best eyeliner I have ever tried. It stays on even in hot humid weather and the color stay true.
  3.  Mabelline Great Lash Big Mascara: I got this mascara from Manila last November but I just started using it this month. It is the blaskest mascara I've ever had and the best part it is washable. It adds volume, applies evenly and it doesn't clump. It lengthens the lashes and it defines and separates each lashes.
  4. Fuji Film Instax Mini 7s camera: Love this thing, it is so easy to use, light weight and easy point and shoot camera that will no doubt become anyone's favorite. It is just like the old polaroid photograph that we use to take.
  5. Trident Layer Gum: This is of course sugar free chewing gum. I am so enjoying this thing.

 Regret
Medicine: This month I have been taking a lot of medication for my gums/teeth and then it got to flu and running nose. Too much of medication makes me sick, low on energy, dull and sad. Finally I have stop it and now healing through taking rest and have loads of vitamins to fight bad health.

Starbucks Mix Berry Yoghurt with Granola

I was at the airport the other day flying to Singapore, I had a terrible upset stomach and haven't been eating at all since morning. I pop in Starbucks to see if there is anything lite and healthy to eat. Found this Mix Berry Yoghurt with Granola. Granola is a kind of breakfast cereal consisting of rolled oats, brown sugar or Honey, nuts and dried fruits. It was so refreshing and I really felt full having it although it is only 150 grams. It says it is low fat so I guess it must be healthy. It cost around 70 Baht for one if I am not wrong. It is a bit pricy for me.

There are 200 calories in 1 serving of Starbucks mixed berry Yoghurt with Granola, including 11% Fat, 75% carbs and 15% proteins. Calories from Fat is 25%, Source: http://www.fatsecret.com/

Even though I don't see you very often nor have we interacted that much, I need you to know that you will always be missed and in my heart forever. I know I didn't tell you enough, but I love and always will. God bless you always Mammi, May your soul Rest in Peace.

Indian Party

It was my friend Ratti's wadai party. Wadai party in the indian community of Bangkok means when you announce the confirmation of a wedding between two people. It's not an engagement party. Just a celebration of the official announcement. Nothing much happens in the function other than, people who attends the wedding, give gifts or money to the to be bride and groom. Then there is a small performance my the friends and family and then there is dinner. Dance floor is open at all times, people are just crazily dancing to Bollywood music. Not to forget the sideline gossip and scrutinizing of other people's dress and their relationships. As much as I want to avoid the talks, people eventually make me fall for the talks. Not saying that I am some saint or anything but yeah it goes one. Like other Indian parties, it is a must to wear indian traditional dress. Here is what I choose to wear.

SEA Aquarium In Singapore

SEA aquarium is a nice addition to the resort world entertainment complex. I had visited this aquarium in May 2013. From Bugis I took MRT to Harbour Front then ride the sentosa express, the aquarium was located the the floor below, before I entered the SEA aquarium theres many to see, at the Maritime museum. Some of the old artifacts form sunken ship and maritime oriented displays. As I enter the aquarium, we can see giant fish tank (Guinness Book of Record Holder), with thousands of fishes inside. theres also a touch pond where child can interact with marine animals. I do recommend this attraction to everyone visiting SIngapore.

It does look okayish with different species and divided into different sections. It is quite informative. The largest screen looking though the glass was stunning. But to be honest it did not have many species in it as yet. Also When taking photograph, it wasn't all that clear. the water was a bit dull and to my surprise there were not a lot of people in there.

Mr. Jones' Orphanage

Mr. Jones' Orphanage is a dessert restaurant which is located on the 3rd floor of Siam center. This place is decorated with fluffy teddy bears, vintage prints and toys, it just like dejavu of the whole world of childhood fantasies.

We had one of their signature dish which is the chocky mud pie - a chocolate lava cake served with vanilla ice cream. Their price range is from 100 to 200 depending on what you order.

Atmosphere: This place really bring back old memory. Very cute and it feels like your sitting in a train with teddy  bears all around.

Value: Average. It could of course be expensive when you don't have money. We ordered 4 item and the bill was around 700 Thai Baht

Service: Was very quick as everything was already made.

Address: Siam Center, 3rd Floor

Overall: I would give this place, 8.5 out of 10. They had variety of menu and also the naming of each item was very interesting.

Raksha Bandhan to all my Brother

Raksha Bandhan - This festival involves the tying of Rakhi (sacred thread) by a sister on her brother's writs. This symbolizes the sister's love and prayers for her brother's well-being, and the brother's life long vow to protect her. Happy Raksha Bandhan to all my brothers !!! Love you all !!

BMW Driver are Jerks ??? Really ??

I came across this article in The Wall Street Journal, its very interesting. I dream of having a BMW either White or Blue. In their findings, it says people who drive blue BMW are more jerks. I gotta re-think it I guess. Don't want to be in that category. But it actually depends on how you drive at the end. Watch the video to see how research analysis it.

Sukishi Charcoal Grill Japanese Restaurant

As the name suggests Sukishi Charcoal Grill and Japanese Restaurant brings together Korean Table barbecues with authentic Japanese cuisine.  My recommendation here would be marinated port 'Bulgogi' to grill. You can find this restaurant in a number of Bangkok's major malls.

Atmosphere: We were there at 7 o'clock on a Friday, some table were still empty. But after a while it was full. It became a bit chaotic, busy and crowded.

Value: All the grill and shabu place that I have been are all in the similar range. We were 6 people and the bill came around 3000 Baht something. I think it's just an average price.

Service: It was average. We waiting for a sushi for like an hour. Other than this the meats and all were pretty quick.

Address: Siam Center, 4th floor http://www.sukishigroup.com/

Overall: The taste was good. I enjoyed it. Specially the sauce was tasty. There was a variety of meats and Japanese  and Korean food. This place would be good for a friends hangout or for work people to get together. Not to forget, great place for family too. I would give this place I would give it a 8 out of 10.
