RIP QZ 8501

Words can't really describe how awful and terrible I'm feeling after hearing and seeing the news regarding AirAsia QZ8501. Rest in peace to all the lives lost. I cannot imagine what the families and their loved ones are going through but i can only hope that they are receiving the support they need.

Travel safe all and a very happy new year in advance.

Wedding Invites & Favors

I finally I am able to share with you my wedding card and wedding favors. My card was done from India with the help of my cousins. Honestly without them, I wouldn't have executed something like this. The cards here in Thailand are really overpriced. Specially with the complex Indian invitation that requires a 100 pages as there are a million things to be mentioned. It was impossible to get a card done less than 200 baht per card. So getting it done in India was like a half price. And the wedding favor that I distributed with the card was half a kg of prunes. This was for 160 Baht per box and with the cover must have costed 25 Baht. Just love how it all came out. I've started to distribute the cards now but still a lot more left to be sent out.

Solution to Wedding Stress

So the other day I grumbling of how stressed I was right. I wasn't feeling right about my outfit and blah blah. So I decided to do a dry run of the whole thing. I hired a photographer, my actual day make up artist as well as the hair dresser. Just to see who the whole look will come out, specially with the make up and what hair style to wear that day. The photo shoot was done on Saturday and now I'm feeling much better. Although not as I expected, but I'm feeling a little complete. I'm glad I did it.

Today I received the draft pictures from the shoot, I'm feeling more comfortable and much more relaxed. It was just no use for me to be stressed out. There's always a way out in every difficult situation you face. Very important that you identify the problem and find out a solution for it.

Wedding S-T-R-E-S-S

I think I might be going through a post wedding depression. I think I'm too stressed out planning my wedding that it all turn blue. It probably wasn't evident from my blogging and it didn't effect my job, but in my downtime I was lonely, pessimistic and just plain sad.  They say, when we have many changes in out lives our chemical balance can get off, and whether that's true or not, that's what I'm feeling. I just don't want to do anything right now. It's just not working out. From the dress, decor and the rest, nothing is ready.. I'm not ready either..

Zalora Online Shopping

Technically I didn't buy anything on Black Friday. Not like there is any custom here. But I did on cyber Monday on It is a Thai online shopping site. I cam across it through a publicist of zalora. There was this huge sale on Monday, and top of you subscribe to their mail you get additional 250 Baht off. I was in love with this pair of Hidden Wedge high cut shoe. And it was for 1,199 Baht. The deal was great and they had payment on delivery. I bought it and it was delivered to be today. I made the payment to the delivery guy at 940 Baht and the whole process was complete.

Online shopping feels like a surprise present comes to you even thought you pay for it yourself. :)

The service is super quick, and the size of the shoe runs to its original size. So there was no problem with that. The fitting was perfect. Also a bonus for me, the shoe itself is super light. The only thing that I didn't like was the white sole of the shoe was slightly dirty. I wish they could have checked it before.

This website has a lot of items to choose from being it girl, boy or babies. It also has a ery good return policy which you rarely see it in Thailand. I have added some photo of the wedges.

December Wedding Updates - Less than 50 days left

Miss me much?

Work kept me working far too many hours, on far too many days. The whole November was crazy for me in terms of work. Any-how, let's keep the work talk aside and get back to business - wedding planning updates! this is how are things have progressed:
  • Invites
With the help from Swati & Richa (my sisters), my card is ready, shipped to Bangkok and now ready to be distributed.I love it. It came out beautiful.
  • Trousseau
Main functions outfit are done, it should be arriving in 1-2 weeks times. I just have the accessories left. For ring ceremony, I  have to finalize the earrings that I would be wearing. The problem with this is that, the set the boy side is giving doesn't really match as we bought the set before the outfit, it was because lack of time. So we are still figuring out what we do with it. For mehendi, I'm thinking of fresh flower accessories, this will be done few days before the wedding. For the wedding dress, the main set is done, pending is the head piece and haar.
  • Honeymoon
Our ticket has been done. I guess we are sorted on this. Having my brother in law taking care of this, is a peace of mind. Can blindly trust his choice and options. So this can be ticked off as well. I just need to get winter sorted immediately.
  • Pending items
Thats'all for now. Pending things include: start dance practices for the sangeet (which I'm most excited about, have to think of a song choice), buy jewellery for the outfits, decide on DJ, finalize the decor for the functions... a few from the never ending list. Am I missing anything?

Sigh! Career Achievement

Today I finally completed my first ever global project which started in April 2014. I was the regional coordinator of the project. Total 7 country involved Australia, China, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. It was a new go-live of a product. I basically manage the whole project life cycle. What a personal challenge this has been. I was so nervous and stressed out during this whole project. The project did have it's hiccup but I was able to manage that along the way.

I had written about this project in the regional article and it also got published today. It was awesome to see yourself in it. Specially to see it on everyone's table was funny to me.

Overall it was a fabulous experience this company has given me a chance and really trusted that I could achieve it. Kudos to the company I work for.

Singapore Haul

I know I'm super late on updating this post. These are actually the stuff I picked up during my trip to Singapore in October. Lots of good stuff, you might already know from my last post of how much I was in love with clarisonic. I'm enjoying make up forever foundation. It's phenomenal.

Happy 32nd Wedding Anniversary, Mom & Dad!

I want to congratulate my mom and dad on their 32nd wedding anniversary, which I have planned to celebrate this weekend. They were married in 1982. Your wedding was not some perfect wedding life, it had its quirks, its ups and its down. But deep down, you both love each other dearly.

As parents, you've sacrificed a lot to make sure that I'm happy and successful. I can never thank you enough for the love, wisdom and support you've shown me throughout the years. You've taught  me that love takes work, and it can survive the hardest time. I am blessed to have parents like you and extremely thankful that I you both.

Product Rave - Clarasonic Mia 2

The best thing I ever bought for my skin, the Clarisonic Mia 2. I had plan to buy this for a long long time, but just didn't really buy it coz it was pricy. When we were in Singapore this time, my cousin bought it, so I thought might as well. Actually at the end, my finance invested in it for me. Thank you babe.

I see a difference in my skin in just a months time. When I started using it in the beginning, I used to use it thrice a week I felt it was too harsh for my skin. Gradually, when i started using it, my skin got use to it and I am now using it on a daily basis. After every wash, I would feel my skin tingle. My skin is cleanse on a daily basis now. I love it. I use it with my cetaphil and Neutrogena face wash. I am still switching between facewash.

Pre-Wedding Shoot

The thought of taking pre-wedding photo didn't really occur to us because of the long distance planning that we had to coordinate was difficult. But it did happen.

I finally have my engagement shoot pictures. I am beyond excited to share some of my favorite really soon. Having an engagement shoot was one of the best decision we have made so far with with our wedding because it really gave us a change to get to know the style of make up as well as get comfortable in front of the camera. The shoot was part of the package.

We had a two day shoot. The first day was in X2 Resort, Kui Buri. Fabulous property, we shot majorly the bridal gowns with the beach and swimming. And then for the secon day, it was in Bangkok, where we did one shoot in my friends condo (BT residence) then we moved to Renaissance Bangkok and then Rama 8 bridge. We got variety of photography and with all the mixtures and dresses.

The whole concept was "Inner Beauty". Minimal make-up and very simple with elegance. We actually did not mena to coordinate our outfit at all but somehow it all worked out. I am posting some of behind the scene photo that I have from my phone, Once I get the real ones from the photography, I shall update it. I hope you guys love these as much as we do!

October Wedding Updates - Less than 100 days left

I realized I haven't given you an update on my wedding in quite some time! Not much has progress, as I was in Singapore for a short getaway with my cousins and then we had Ayra (my niece) a new addition in our family. So it just kept me away from the whole wedding fiesta. I will soon give you an update on my Singapore trip as well.
  • Meeting with my pre-wedding photographer
We are going to be having two supplier for our wedding. The main one (Fotozeed) who will be capturing our moments during our events. I love their candid photographer but they are not available for the pre-wedding shoot during the time my finance is in town. Phew!! Sad on this, but life moves on.

The fiance and I met with a new photographer two weeks ago. I found them through social media, they are known as 56 Kon Film Production. They would be taking care our pre-wedding shoots, behind the scene and presentation for the wedding. They are not really a commercialize photographer, they are basically starting up and from what I noticed, they prefer small projects.

  • My trousseau
I've got majority of my trousseau. And guess what, they all fit me perfectly. I'm missing out only one, one I've sent it for altered and my wedding outfit is left.  I've not said much about my wedding outfit because it's in the process of being made, and I'll tell you how much I love it only once it's in front of my eyes looking as pretty in flesh and blood. This is the only outfit I'm completely head over heels about. It comes to me by the first week of December so till then, hold your horses!

  • My experiments with...Makeup
I started collecting make up for my wedding since three-four months back. I couldn't neglect it cause it uber expensive and specially with my finickiness, I gravitate towards the expensive products. During my Singapore trip this month, I finally purchased a few foundation to try which is the Make up forever HD Foundation and also their concealer. I was so satisfied with the sales girl at Sephora who suggested me the perfect color match to my skin tone.

  • Engagement ring
My engagement ring is here. I'm totally in love with it. It's not the traditional engagement ring, its more of a casual or you can say classic. Very simple but I'm love it. Now we are left with wedding band. My finance is here for 3 weeks, most likely this item will be checked off.

  • Honey M-O_O-N
Phew!!! It's never ending. Nothing has been booked as yet. I'm finalising Turkey. This is where my fiance wanna go. So we are sticking to this. Just the booking part is left. The whole itineary has been worked out.

  • Still so much is pending!!!!
Now, for what's pending - Booking a mehendi artist, invitation cards, decor for the sangeet and mendhi and the down payment to the mehendi function. You got it, quite a bit is pending! I'm super nervous. But I can also look at the glass half full that half of the wedding prep is nearly completed. With less than a 100 days to go, I'm so excited, I can hardly wait.

I heart my Daddy

It's not father day today but don't know why I wish to write about my emotions towards him. Everyone loves their father that is no doubt. My relationship with my dad has been good. He is like a mentor and everything to me. I become really emotional whenever I see something father related. It give me goosebumps. He has always been strict with me, shouted at me if I did anything wrong. He never communicates his love to me but by his behavior and action, you know that he loves me A-L-O-T. He is my lifeline and my strength at the same time.

No matter where I go in life, who I get married to, how much time I spend with guys, how much I love my finance, you'll always be my number 1 man.

Sincerely, your little girl

Wedding Update

We finally made a down payment for the ballroom at Renaissance Ratchprasong Hotel Bangkok.
I am in love with this ballroom, it is called Royal Maneeya Ballroom, decorated in a modern way. It is very new and fresh. I personally love it. It was purely my call on this choice. I hope it all works out beautifully. I'm planning to have 400 guest, this ballroom can have 800 for cocktail and 300 for a sit down dinner. So I will probably have seatings for at least 250 guest. The ballroom has high ceiling which I love.  I am super excited. Here are some pictures:

Wedding Ramble - Make up artist

To keep it simple and not feel bad about it, my confirmed make-up artist ditched me for some other wedding. How ridiculous could this be. I've done my make up with her thought but she is really good with brides. I was willing to pay the full amount to her but she didn't even want it. She choose an Indian bride from India over me. I know I was only giving her one function, but hey, I booked and you confirmed me back, why cancel? Just because I wasn't giving her the full wedding? I'm calm down on this issue though as there was nothing I could do nor change. Just wanted this to be in my wedding diary rambling section. Also not to mention, she is my finance really good friend as well, that is another reason why I am not saying anything. But business is business, I wasn't going to pay her less or ask for a discount either. I think it's quite obvious why she ditched me. But anyways, I still have my lovely friend Paveena Rathour, who was doing 2 event for me, so I'd just asked her to do all for me. All settle now.

Body Lotion Hunt

From my last post, you might have guessed, I didn't like the cream I bought. Today I specially grilled down all the cream that was available at the super market and saw each ingredient and the best suited for my skin type. So here we are, I bought the St. Ives naturally soothing body lotion, which was made of oatmeal & shea butter. As mention on the bottle, instant, non-irritating , relief for itchy dry skin This is exactly how my skin type is and without checking the price, I totally grab it. I've tried it once and the result is as claim. But this is just my first use. It smell like morning breakfast and even more convincing points to me were:
- Dermatologist tested
- Gentle for sensitive skin
- 100% natural moisturizer
- Fast absorbing
- Non greasy
- Formulated without parabens or phthalates

It is 21 fl oz and this bottle costed me 470 Thai Baht. Hopefully it does it jobs, its going to be my next favorite of the month.
With the cream, I also found interesting stuff like:
Smooth E extra sensitive makeup cleansing water for face & eye: it is a miceller solution, non irritating cleansing water. It removes make up, smooth and moisture the skin. This product also has no paraben and alcohol in it. Let see how this works

I'm obsessed with eye patch, so I picked up one hydrogel eye therapy patch to give it a try. On the package, it mention:
- High elasticity improvement
- Moisture balance and nutrition supply
- cooling & soothing effect
- No paraben

Last but not the least, is the white glo extra strenth whitening toothpaste. It is formulated for coffee & tea drinkers, so basically to remove stains. Don't know how this is going to work.

Thats all for now ladies.....

Quick grabs

Went to food land yesterday, quickly grab some stuff from the super market. This cherry car fresh near smell so gooood. Totally to die for. As for Jergens, I am still testing out, but just saw the ingredients and  it was a turn off. I should have checked it before. Parabean is a no no for my skin.

The Month of August

It's been forever and ever, and I know I'm going to be saying this in every post. I was away almost the whole of August and kept everything to pause. These are the updates:

My wedding is 4 months away and I had pushed my parents to book the venues for Sangeet and Mendhi asap. The booking part is yet to be confirmed and hopefully this will be done real soon.

We started off with Kashmir and then to Bhutan. I wanted to go Maldives, but my finance thinks that it could get boring after sometime and wanted a place where we can relax and get some activity done too. All of a sudden, he gave the option of Turkey. So now my brother in law is working on the itinerary between Turkey and Maldive. I checked out Turkey, and figured it'll get too cold to enjoy the waters on a beach. I'm gonna cross this off our list really soon and I cannot imagine his reaction.

I have placed all  outfit during my trip to Delhi. Beautiful wedding lengha but changing it to anarkali, which I am super excited about but I will only get it first week of December. (way too long to decide other things) Also another outfit that I am excited about is the sangeet outfit. I didn't opt for a lengha like all brides in Bangkok. I went with a gown and it's super simple and yet elegant. I just hope it's n too less. (finger cross). Another thought provoking is the mendhi outfit. For this one, I just sawa single small patch work, other than that nothing else. Hope Anish brings it on like always. I hope all of these 3 main outfit come out well. I liked all the three dresses but I still doubt the wow factor. Until an unless I see the final one with my own eyes, I will not be satisfied.

Ahh, the dreaded guest list, Since we obviously cannot afford to fee 2000+ mouths on a single night, irrespective of what a great deal we get from the hotel, we need to cut this down and filter our who's going to be invited to the Sangeet (we CANNOT be calling more than 200 from each side. Why is this such a painful exercise??!! arggghhhh

I've started researching of themes I want. It's so difficult to decide. My mind is going totally crazy and I really pity it. I'm talking to two vendors right now and seeing what do they have to offer me. Since I don't have a wedding planner, I'm going to have to direct it all by myself. Will post a few options  soon.

I'll probably add in a few more things in the coming days. Should pprobably go get some things done so my list can get crossed.

See you soon, ladiess.....

Always Tired

O-M-G I am so tired!

I just got back from Delhi after like 20 days. I was there for my brother's wedding and then continue with my wedding shopping. It was so tiring. But along it, I had a blast with my cousin in Delhi. They were fabulous and was so hospitable. I am back to work and I feel CONSTANTLY tired. I mean - you can get 987 hours of straight, deep, intense sleep but you wake up and first thought that crosses your mind is:

O-M-G I'm so tired!

This is how I have been feeling for the past couple of days. I used to only need about 6 hours of sleep to function properly but now I am at a point where I could from 9:00 pm to 7am (10 hours) and still feel like I haven't slept in years.

I think I have figured it out - the reason why I am so tired all the time is beacuse my mind is running like a wild child even when I am sleeping. This is due to the million things going on in my life and mind right now.

What do you do to relieve stress and sleep peacefully? How do you wake up rested?

Got my Bridesmaid !!

I have finally found and decided on my bridesmaid. In Indian wedding being a salbali  aka bridesmaid is either your close friend or a family and of course someone who is unmarried. Usually it's only 1 person unlike the western weddings. To be honest, it wasn't really hard for me to decide at all for this one. It was instant and I knew it right away it would be Richa. So yesterday I had asked her to be my brides made and she said yesss... This is a small invitation that I sent to her.

And of course not forgetting my favorite person Swati who will be my maid of matron.  Thank yo guys in advance for standing by me at all times. Love you both.

Wedding Cosmetic/Skin Care

I'm going to start posting things I'm doing for my wedding. Small bits from shopping list, functions, cards, bridal wear, etc..

Here are some of my cosmetic/skin care collection for my wedding. Trying to keep it very minimal, but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. I'm most excited to use Benefit push up gel liner, Giorgio Armani lipstick and urban decay all night setting spray.

Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation Powder

I have super dry skin so I'm always on the lookout for the next best thing when it comes to foundation. I opted for this, because I feel like powder foundations are easier to work with and generally do not cause as much irritation. Also, I wanted something lighter than MAC Studio fix foundation because its getting too warm outside for such heavy foundation. This product works fairly well to meet my needs. I'm in the color 10 (usually wear NC40 in MAC) and in Bangkok it cost THB 1900.-

  • Coverage can be very light if used dry, but medium to ful coverage can be achieved when used wet.
  • Does not look cakey at alll (super plus)
  • Does not oxidize at all
  • Does not cause any irritation on my very sensitive skin
  • Super expensive comparing to MAC studio fix
  • Hate the feel of the packaging
  • Accentuate fine lines after a period of hours

July Singapore Sling

We had a short weekend in Singapore last weekend which was between 11-15th July. I took my mom and mom in law to meet my finance. We had a blast and I really enjoyed every moment of it.
